Advice for a lead
I'd like to become a specialist lead. I enjoy the position and the challenge of setting up the head for my team mates. Question though:
What are the best possible spots for a lead to position his bowls (In fours and trips?)

RE: Advice for a lead
I am also a new bowler but recognise some of the names of the members who belong to this forum and am quite amazed that nobody has responded to this question. Is this such a stupid question that a response is not valid???? or do the bowlers not want to give their secrets away???

RE: Advice for a lead
Your query certainly deserves a reply. I suggest that you go to my web site http://www.mortonmaterial.com. Go to the page called Bowls Tactics 1 and check out two of the files - What shots should a Skipper ask from a Leader and another file below the previous one called Should Leaders play one side of the green. I also suggest you look at the page called Obtain information from Players and look at the file called - Questionnaire - Role of the Leader. This excel file has two worksheets - one for a Leader to complete and one for a Skipper to complete. If you take the trouble to complete these questionnaires I woudld like to see your results. If you do all of the above you may feel overwhelmed. However the material should have given you plenty to think about. Any feed back to my ideas welcomed. Bill

Thank you very much for the info Bill. I have been on your website and you are right.... there is a lot of information to filter through. However with your guidance I was quickly able to find the related articles and have read and printed them. I will study in depth tonight and discuss it with our club members tomorrow. I will also complete the questionnaires and email that through to you. Thank you very much. I noted that your details were placed in our newspaper today so expect heavy traffic.
I will also revert back to your website a bit later as you seem to have a lot of information that can be useful to every bowler.
Thanks again
